"My daughter got an appointment at noon on 27/01/25. I had to phone and cancel her appointment because she started having a fever last night and she is not well.
When I spoke to the receptionist and explained to her that I was sorry my daughter couldn't attend today and I apologize I couldn't phone you earlier because I know they have a 48-hour policy she was not nice regarding it. She said I should have left a message over the weekend. I told her she started having a fever last night. I can tell in her voice she doesn't believe me.
She probably wants me to prioritize leaving them a message than looking after my sick daughter.
