"The end result of my hygiene appointment was satisfactory, however I wish I received proper cleaning with hand scaler. It was used for few seconds on my front two teeth only at the beginning of the appointment. My session didn’t last 45 minutes. It was 30 minutes max, got into the chair at 23 and was out by 50. The hygienist could have explained what would using an air flow mean from patients perspective, so I would know what to expect. Also, I expected more patience from the staff.
The receptionist/nurse’s customer service skills could be improved. The overall experience would have been far better if I wasn’t ignored at the front desk and given the opportunity to see on the card machine to see how much I was charged.
While I understand the practice takes a deposit at the time of booking to cover costs in case the patient fails to attend, it is a rather poor practice trying to hold the money all the time. After all it is not a bank.
I am a qualified dental nurse and worked in private dentistry for 15 years."
