Hertfordshire Dental Group (Hertford)

"I have been with the Ware Practice since it opened. I remained with them even though I had moved to Hertford because of the excellent treatment I received there. But, at 72, it is more of a chore than it was so when the Hertford Practice opened I decided to give it a go.
The premises are clean and bright and the reception is welcoming and helpful. Owing to a series of unfortunate issues my visit was long overdue but they took it in their stride and found me a swift and convenient slot. Prior to the appointment they sent a reminder to my phone, which I appreciated.
I arrived early (a habit I like to keep) but had barely sat down when the dentist came out to greet me. He was open and professional but concerned to put me at my ease, while gathering all the essential information to take proper care of me. He talked me through every step he was taking and at the end of the examination offered to carry out there and then the minor remedial work he had found.
I think it is fair to say no one relishes visiting the dentist and repeat visits heighten the anxiety so I was pleased to get the job done there and then. He carried out the work efficiently but gently, checking on how I was repeatedly through the procedure. His dental assistant was clearly “part of the team” and supported him quietly but well. I felt in good hands throughout.
I have said that no one relishes visiting the dentists but I will add this. In all the time I have been going to the Hertfordshire Dental Group I have been excellently treated and, if not quite a pleasure, their high professional standards coupled with their consistent human kindness has removed all the apprehension. They have served me splendidly and I thank them all.
I would have given a 5 star rating but there was just one lapse, not with the dental service itself but with their IT. It notified me that I needed to visit its site to fill in a form. I didn’t think I needed to but in the spirit of co-operation I tried. The next half an hour was spent chasing round and round a loop that led me nowhere and that I eventually gave up on. Clearly it did not matter at all to the group as it was not mentioned when I turned up for my appointment. It may seem trivial but that is the sort of thing that undermines trust and puts people off. And It let down what is otherwise a highly laudable dental practice. Too often the geeks organisations employ to run their sites see things only from their own narrow digital perspective. I hope someone will now take a look at it from a customer’s point of view.
That quibble apart, I commend the Hertfordshire Dental Group without hesitation. Well done."
